Open Data / Data sharing

This new radar tower with cameras at the Kanaaldok B2 is part of a network that helps us with the traffic management.

Port of Antwerp-Bruges is the second largest port in Europe and provides a very broad range of activities. Those activities enable the port to measure and map thousands of useful incoming data streams to improve and optimise its operations. Everybody who signs in to the data sharing platform can use that data to support their tasks.

What is a data sharing platform?

A data sharing, or open data platform is a web platform for sharing data sets, typically through the exposure of application programming interfaces (APIs). In the context of Port of Antwerp-Bruges, the aim of the open data platform is to share data sets produced by Port of Antwerp-Bruges  so that they can be reused and can provide third parties with a means of sharing relevant and interesting data sets.

Pushed barges

As a pushed barge shipping company, sharing digital data about your push barges, such as the composition of convoys and the location of the barges, is easy using the pushed barge tracker. This increased transparency allows Port of Antwerp-Bruges and North Sea Port to optimise their lock schedules and provides owners and operators with real-time data on their cargo.

Terminal API

Specifically for terminals, Terminal API is available as a freestanding application. As a terminal, it provides you with an overview of all ocean-going vessels destined for your terminal. As with PortVoyages, that detailed information comes from APICS and integrating it into your own systems is easy. Here too, you can request 1500 updates of the information per day.
