Accessibility Statement

Last updated: 7 July 2025

Port of Antwerp-Bruges works to provide a website that is accessible to all, so everyone can readily access and use the information. This complies with the requirements of the  Decree of 7 December 2018 , which transposed European Directive 2016/2102 of 26 October 2016 concerning the accessibility of websites and mobile applications of public authorities.

This accessibility statement outlines the extent to which this website complies with the predefined guidelines. Meanwhile, we continuously strive to improve the user experience and adhere to relevant accessibility standards.

This accessibility statement applies to: https://www.portofantwerpbruges.com/

Compliance status

This website partially complies with the European standard  EN 301549 version 3.2.1 (2021), which incorporates the criteria from categories A and AA of the  WCAG 2.1 standard.

Non-accessible content

Some parts of the website are not yet fully accessible. For example:

  • Text alternatives for some images
  • Contrast problems
  • Limited accessibility via keyboard navigation on certain pages

We are committed to resolving them as quickly as possible.

Improvement Plan

  1. We are preparing an independent accessibility audit conducted by UXMen. We expect to receive the results of this audit in July 2025. Based on this audit, we will draw up an action plan and, if necessary, consider alternatives with concrete improvement measures.

  2. This accessibility statement was prepared on 30 June 2025 following a self-assessment. A more detailed accessibility statement will be published once the results of UXMen’s audit become available.

They will assess the website against the 56 success criteria of WCAG 2.2 Level AA using both automatic and manual analysis. In doing so, they will evaluate each aspect of the website using WCAG’s four guiding principles: perceivable, operable, understandable and robust. Specifically, this includes sufficient colour contrast and alt text for images (perceivable), keyboard and other tool navigation and operation (operable), clear content structure and consistent navigation elements (understandable), and compatibility with various assistive technologies such as screen readers (robust).

We thank you for your patience and understanding as we work towards a more accessible website.
