Notification of arrival of export consignment

With this functionality, as a 'trader at exit', you send an arrival notification to customs as soon as the goods physically arrive at the terminal.

As a 'trader at exit', you must notify the customs office of exit when goods physically arrive at your terminal. This is required by the European Export Control System (ECS). In the Port of Antwerp, it is understood that the terminal operator acts as the 'trader at exit'. You get the information you need for the customs declaration from the declarant or his intermediary.

How does it work?

When a container arrives at the terminal (via truck, inland navigation vessel or train), as terminal operator you check whether the MRN number (the customs declaration number) is registered in the e-Desk database. Then, as a terminal operator, you send a CODECO message (container) to customs. This electronic message confirms the arrival of the container at the terminal and links it to the customs declaration (MRN number). Customs conducts a risk analysis based on this and determines whether an exit check, such as scanning or physical verification, is necessary.

For general cargo, the arrival notification is sent to customs via the central breakbulk application Cubix.
