Based on the user's permissions, you will have access to three applications:
TOOL is the gateway for port users to apply for their work and nautical authorisations.
Work authorisations
A work permit is an essential safety document in which you commit to working in accordance with the applicable rules. It also serves as an attendance document, so that we always know where and how many employees are active.
Via TOOL, you are required to make a pre-notification of the work you want to carry out on a bridge or lock complex within the port area. This pre-notification is created on a work permit that you have received from your contact person within the Antwerp-Bruges Port Authority.
As of 28 April 2025, registration of all persons present and vehicles is mandatory. You can complete this via the TOOL application. We ask for the name, first name and national register number or ID number of each person who will enter the lock perimeter. For vehicles, you enter the number plate.
In this way, we work together on a safe and efficient working environment.
Nautical authorisations
For any work with nautical impact on infrastructure and vessels in the port, authorisation must be requested through TOOL. In this application, you can not only make requests, but also view and manage them afterwards.
The Harbour Master's Office grants this permit based on the Port Police Regulations. This ensures the safe performance of works, smooth and secure shipping traffic, and minimises environmental risks.
Route permits
A route permit is an authorisation to drive port vehicles on public roads within the port area. It is mandatory to apply for a permit, as outlined in the Port Traffic Regulation.
