The accessibility of Port of Antwerp-Bruges is important for the companies, customers and people who work there. In various parts of the port area we are working to improve the infrastructure for vehicle and cycle traffic. This causes temporary inconvenience from time to time. View the overview of all road works.
Roadworks in Antwerp
In collaboration with Lantis and the Roads and Traffic Agency, we provide an overview of the construction sites that have the most impact on road traffic in and around the Antwerp port area. In this regard, we endeavour to keep the port as accessible as possible for all users, also during the works on the Oosterweel link.

Roadworks in Zeebrugge
Noise barriers between Legeweg and Koningin Astridlaan
Project
Despite the current noise barriers along the N31, the noise levels along the Expresweg are still too high. Therefore, additional noise barriers will be installed between the Legeweg and Koningin Astridlaan.
Nuisance
New noise barriers will be erected as of March 2022. Traffic in the direction of Zeebrugge will temporarily use one lane.
More information on the website of the Agentschap Wegen en Verkeer.
Roadway panels bridge 4 Pierre Vandamme lock
Project
Between 28 February and 13 May 2022, repair works will be carried out on the road surface panels of bridge 4 of the Pierre Vandamme Lock. This most seaward bridge will be closed during the works.
Nuisance
All traffic will use one lane in both directions over bridge 3. Traffic +7.5T towards Zeebrugge that wants to drive via the Zeesluisstraat to the Isabellalaan will have to make a U-turn at the Rederskaai.
More information about the port project can be found on the website of the Departement Mobiliteit en Openbare Werken (Dutch only).
Zeebrugge currently has several excellent North-South and East-West bike routes. More specifically, there are approximately 6.85 kilometres of bike lanes under the management of MBZ and 18.50 kilometres of designed bike lanes (in concept). The Roads and Traffic Agency operates a total of 42 kilometres of bike lanes.
As such, various planning adaptations are still needed to improve full accessibility to the port (and its terminals).
