Who is the dockmaster or port authority officer?

Since 2020, Port of Antwerp-Bruges has no longer had a dock master. The corresponding responsibilities now lie with the Port Planning and Port Authority departments. The Port Planner and their Assistant Port Planners determine the moorings for ships and are the point of contact for the ship's management when mooring and unmooring.

The Port Authority Supervisor and Port Authority Officers keep watch over optimum security of the port area. They are responsible for implementing the regulations and general procedures of the Harbour Master and enforcing the port regulations.
