What requirements must an assistance vehicle meet?

An assistance vehicle can be a passenger car, a dual-purpose vehicle or a light truck.

 

The basic colour of the assistance vehicle is free.

 

An assistance vehicle must be equipped with the following signs:

  • at the front and rear diagonally alternating white and red stripes with a width of 7.5 to 10 cm over a slope of 45 to 60 degrees; the minimum surface to be covered is 0.5 m²; at the front the white stripes are retroreflective and at the rear the red stripes
  • at the front and rear a square panel of 50x50 cm with the following black logo on a yellow background:
Signallers and assistance coordinators wear a yellow retroreflective vest with logo.
  • sides: retro-reflective white-red or yellow-red arrows pointing towards the front of the vehicle; the arrows cover at least an area of ​​1 m wide and 30 cm high
  • on the roof: at least 2 yellow-orange rotating or flashing lights that must be visible all around
  • at the back: a light bar with orange warning arrows (only if the assistance vehicle is deployed behind the port vehicles to be assisted)
