What is hydrogen?
Hydrogen is a colourless and odourless gas that can be used as energy carrier, alternative energy source, fuel in the transport sector and feedstock in the chemical industry. Depending on the energy source used for its production, we distinguish between grey, blue and green hydrogen.
Green hydrogen is hydrogen that was produced with renewable energy. It will play a decisive role in the energy transition. Port of Antwerp-Bruges intends to take up a leading position as a European green energy hub for green hydrogen and play an active and pioneering role in the hydrogen economy.
