Are goods allowed to be transported using port vehicles A1 and B1?

As of 1 September 2024, goods can be transported with port vehicles of category A1 and B1. Port vehicles of the category must then be pulled by a port vehicle of category A2, A3 or A4.

There are a few conditions: 

• the transport may not take place on the main roads 
• the transport must take place outside the time windows of 7 a.m. to 9 a.m. and from 5 p.m. to 7 p.m. 
• the route is a maximum of 1 kilometre 
• the route may not include any structures 
• the maximum speed is 15 km/h 
• the total mass of a combination of which a port vehicle of category B1 is part is limited to 60 tonnes 
• the visibility of the driver must always be guaranteed 

A route permit must be applied for for transports that do not meet these conditions.
