Terminal planning barge

Using the Barge Traffic System (BTS), terminal operators effortlessly maintain an overview of all requests from container barges. This unique electronic planning platform makes your terminal planning a lot easier.

Container barges often call at several terminals during a port visit. To streamline the administration around it, the Barge Traffic System was launched to centrally manage and handle all requests.

How does it work?

As an inland navigation operator, you can easily request handling times at one or more terminals to load or unload containers via the Barge Traffic System web application.

As a terminal operator, you can approve, amend or reject these requests. A smart conflict control alerts you when an estimated arrival time is not feasible. In doing so, the system takes into account the average sailing time between terminals and the estimated handling time. This helps you plan smoothly and, if necessary, coordinate with other terminals.

In addition, business systems can exchange XML messages with Barge Traffic System via a machine-to-machine link.
