How does it work?
As a seagoing vessel approaches Antwerp and passes Vlissingen, APICS automatically transmits a CUSREP message to customs. The instant the ship enters the port area and actually docks, an updated message follows. This way, customs is always kept perfectly informed about the status of incoming ships.
