What is subsistence duty?

The subsistence duty is levied as soon as an inland vessel enters the port, is valid for an uninterrupted stay of 14 days in the port and expires upon departure from the port. The full day of arrival and departure are included in the length of stay. After this period, an additional subsistence duty must be paid for each new period of 14 days commenced.
