What is shore power?

Shore power is an environmentally friendly and noise-free way to provide electricity to ships while they are berthed. It reduces emissions and therefore helps make ports greener. Numerous connection points for shore power are already available for barges and tugboats. Port of Antwerp-Bruges is committed to also providing shore power for the largest container ships by 2028.
