Liquid bulk
Port of Antwerp-Bruges is strong in liquid bulk. Years of expertise, multimodal terminals and extensive storage capacity are our strengths. Moreover, we are top of mind as a sustainable gateway to Europe.
Extensive storage capacity for liquid bulk
The chemical cluster in Antwerp is the largest in Europe and the most versatile in the world. The wide range of chemical companies generates an extensive network of logistics experts, guaranteeing the safe and high-quality storage, handling and distribution of chemicals, petroleum derivatives and gases.
In addition, the multimodal accessibility of terminals, strengthens our position as a distribution hub. Port of Antwerp-Bruges guarantees smooth and safe transport of liquid bulk from and to the hinterland and overseas. Value-added services such as drumming, heating and blending of products make our terminals your ideal partner in the storage and transhipment of liquid bulk.
Your ideal partner for liquid bulk
Together, more than 20 terminals offer around 9.5 million m3 of independent storage capacity for liquid bulk: 8.9 million m3 in Antwerp and 643.000 m3 in Zeebrugge.
Many sites are licensed for the storage of various categories of hazardous cargo, packaged in drums, IBCs or ISO tank containers.
Zeebrugge LNG hub
The Fluxys LNG terminal in Zeebrugge is the gateway for the supply of LNG (liquefied natural gas) in Northwest Europe. LNG is temporarily stored there and reloaded on board LNG ships, or regasified and sent into the natural gas network. On an annual basis, the terminal handles 9 billion m3 of LNG.
LNG is an important fuel in the transition to a low-carbon economy. It produces less carbon emissions, less particulate matter and less nitrogen emissions.
Multimodal terminals
Thanks to a large number of connections via short sea, barge, rail and road and an extensive pipeline network, Port of Antwerp-Bruges is excellently connected to the main (petro)chemical centres in Europe.
This excellent connectivity with overseas destinations and with the European hinterland ensures a stable supply and transport of raw materials, intermediate and end products.
Sustainable gateway to Europe
Port of Antwerp-Bruges aims for climate neutrality by 2050. As a major import and export hub with a lot of chemical industry, we as a port have several assets to reduce our impact on the climate.
