Port of Antwerp-Bruges loyally present at CILF 2024

From September 23 to 25, 2024, the 19th edition of China International Logistics and Supply Chain Fair (CILF) will take place in Shenzhen. Port of Antwerp-Bruges will also be attending this leading trade fair in the logistics industry. The Port Authority welcomes visitors in the Belgian pavilion, accompanied by KatoenNatie and WorldEx.

“We want to strengthen cooperation with Chinese companies,” says Jan Van der Borght, Port of Antwerp-Bruges representative in China.

Port of Antwerp-Bruges, important logistics hub in Europe

“China is the factory of the world and our main trading partner for container transport,” says Jan Van der Borght. “Shenzhen, where CILF takes place, is one of China's major ports and the fourth largest container port in the world, with the recent addition of an automotive terminal. The fair CILF always adapts to current trends. In this context, Port of Antwerp-Bruges has a lot to offer. As a multifunctional port and the world's largest RoRo port, we are an important logistics hub. During the fair, we will inform both governments and Chinese forwarders and shippers about the unique advantages of the Port of Antwerp and Zeebrugge. Such as our central location in Western Europe and good connections to the UK and mainland Europe.”

“Port of Antwerp-Bruges has faithfully participated in the fair since its inception in 1998,” Van der Borgt continues. “This has strengthened our ties with local authorities over the years. Experience also tells us that visitors to CILF have concrete questions about services and prices. At the fair, we can immediately match them with logistics players such as Katoen Natie and WorldEx, who join us in the Belgian pavilion. By the way, the only country pavilion at CILF.”

Katoen Natie, partner for large volumes

Steven Tokkie of Katoen Natie: “At the fair, we would like to meet Chinese forwarders and companies who want to manage their logistics processes outside China efficiently and effectively. We are the ideal partner for large volumes delivered by container or in bulk. Active in 35 countries on 5 continents, Katoen Natie does goods handling, warehousing and transport. We are great at fast, clear communication and have good connections with the hinterland. Because we work with our own resources, we can move quickly when opportunities arise and in unexpected situations.”

WorldEx, bridge to Europe

Edwin Hua of WorldEx Belgium: "WorldEx is active in five major ports in China, the United States and since 2022 also in Zeebrugge. We are familiar with port services and warehousing and offer smart end-to-end solutions. Our distribution center in Zeebrugge is located in the port area of Port of Antwerp-Bruges, which offers many advantages. We are a Chinese company. So we understand like no other the needs of Chinese companies that ship to Europe, especially when it comes to solar panels, batteries, car parts and e-commerce goods."
