Port representatives visiting

From 13 to 19 February, fifteen international representatives (REPS) from Port of Antwerp-Bruges visited Antwerp and Zeebrugge. During a full programme, the representatives got to know their colleagues and got a behind-the-scenes look at various terminals.

Building up international connections

The port representatives strengthen the Port of Antwerp-Bruges' industrial position worldwide. With their knowledge of local markets and diplomatic skills, they help build an international network for the port. They thus open doors for the port community to attract new cargo flows and investment.

Port of Antwerp-Bruges has representatives all over the world who open doors for the port community and attract new investments.

Special recognitions

The representatives spread a message of sustainable business and provide international collaborations. Some of them received special recognition for their efforts and expertise. Last April, French port representative Marc Delbeke was named an Officer in the Order of the Crown. Japanese representative Chisato Watanabe has held the title of Commander in the Order of the Crown since May 2023. That kind of appreciation from the government, diplomacy and our port is a nice cherry on the top.

Well filled REP week

During the 'REP week', the international representatives headed into the port. Besides visiting ICO and Seabridge in Zeebrugge, they stepped into the role of a pilot or tug captain in the simulator of Brabo and Port of Antwerp-Bruges. During the Community Meet-up, there was some time for networking. This annual event from Port of Antwerp-Bruges brings together port companies to share strategic projects and look to the future together.
