Immersive digital exhibition
On 1 July 2021, Zeekracht, a brand new exhibition in Technopolis opened its doors, allowing visitors to dive into the sea and the port of tomorrow. And they mean that quite literally. Through projections and interactive floors and walls, you feel as though you are completely submerged and walking on the bottom of the sea, with fish swimming around your feet and follow you around. Looking further, you'll see floating solar panels, underwater farms and bubble curtains that protect porpoises from underwater noise, among other things. In short, you have never seen the sea and the port like this before now.
That is because Technopolis has used an immersive digital space for the first time to immerse visitors, as it were, in a sustainable future where science and technology are central. Zeekracht is not just a visual and technological marvel. In terms of content, the exhibition tells a powerful story about a future where science and innovation capitalise on the power of the sea, while protecting it at the same time. Along the way, important topics such as shipping, renewable energy and food come to the fore.
