Certified Pick up to replace PIN codes from 15 January

Port of Antwerp Bruges, the port community and NxtPort have agreed that from 15 January 2024, all transport operators will be required to pick up containers based on Certified Pick up.

Certified Pick up

Certified Pick up is a digital platform for container release at Port of Antwerp-Bruges. The system ensures safe, transparent and efficient container transport.

When Certified Pick up will be operational at all terminals and for all modes of transport in January, pin codes for picking up a container will be completely eliminated. This means that the import process for a container at all Antwerp container terminals will be done entirely through Certified Pick up.

In the coming months, we will make Certified Pick up available for barge and rail at the terminals. Afterwards, pilot projects will start at each terminal, and the link with Secure Container Release will also be complete for the shipping companies involved.

Register now

In order to ensure that the roll-out continues smoothly, we are calling on everyone involved in the container import process to register on the platform. The use of Certified Pick up is a requirement for which the legal framework is contained in the Port Police Regulation.

By actively using Certified Pick up now, we can ensure a smooth process when PIN codes are no longer used on 15 January.

Certified Pick up goes life in January.
