New rail connections

With the start of a rail link, Contargo has been expanding its services since 4 April 2022. The new rail shuttle for Contargo Rail Services connects the Frankfurt-Höchst industrial park with quay 1700 DP World Antwerp Gateway terminal and quays 913 and 869 for PSA container terminals on a weekly basis. The trains can carry all types of goods in containers and reefers. The focus is on maritime cargo. It is the first open commuter train connection between Antwerp and the Rhine-Main area.

This new rail link is an initiative from the Swiss Birsterminal in the Rhine port Birsfelden in collaboration with Terminal Container Athus (TCA). Under the name Tango Rail Line, there is one departure per week from Birsfelden to TCA. From there, there are daily connections to Antwerp and Zeebrugge.
