Will there be one bill of lading for both ports?

Unifying the bill of lading is not a decision that a port authority can or should weigh in on. It is up to the sector, the shipping company, shipper and receiver to contractually agree how they organise the transport and whether such a unified bill of lading fits within their agreements and logistics supply chain.

Interconnectivity and interchangeability between the two platforms is an essential feature of the merger. We will continue to work on the further 'integration' of both platforms while continuing to respect free market forces. As such, we are focusing on creating the right preconditions so that the market can organise itself accordingly.

There will always be a cost associated with interchangeability, but hopefully it will be sufficiently competitive (depending on market forces).
